To Much Money to Resist
The online casino gambling industry is a big lure for other companies all over
the world; there is just too much money to be made within the industry to resist
the ability to enter and operate within. One of the key drawbacks though is the
fact that internet gambling is one of those industries that has polarized
acceptance in international markets and the pervasiveness of the market makes it
hard for companies to control access to online casino gambling products in
accordance with state, regional, and national laws. The US market has really
made companies cautious about their involvement with the internet casinos; the
US Department of Justice has done a good job scaring the international companies
from operating in the US market.
The European online casino gambling market though is a whole other ball game and
there are several related industries that can no longer resist the temptation of
high profits and revenues that the internet gambling industry provides. The
biggest company to do an about-face on the online casinos is Google. Google
decided to block internet gambling advertisements from the search engine on a
world-wide basis a couple of years back because of the controversial nature of
internet gambling and the fact that so many governments had some very specific
restrictions and bans on the industry.
That is changing though and several months ago Google announced that the company
is now allowing online casinos themselves to appear in the search engines and
advertise through the search engine rather than just rely on affiliate gambling
sites to send gamblers to them. In addition to Google, PayPal has just announced
its plan to enter and operate within the European and UK internet gambling
industries. |
