The Credit Card Question
There is no question that GambleCraft stands behind the efforts in the global
market to legalize and regulate the online casino gambling industry. This is a
given really, but there is a pressing question that has rose up in New Zealand
recently and actually causes quite the dilemma. Basically, one of the key
anti-internet gambling arguments that is hard to protest are the claims that the
online casinos facilitate debt for many gamblers. Now research indicates that
problem gambling figures are well within a comparable range between the land and
internet gambling companies. But what about the increasing tendencies for some
gamblers to use their credit cards to gamble?
That is a tough question for the online casinos and a moral dilemma really.
There are certainly a lot of land and online casino gamblers who gamble
responsible with or without a credit card; they are able to manage their
bankrolls and gamble within their limits. But objectors to a New Zealand online
casino gambling industry claim that the internet gambling sites are dangerous
because they allow the internet gamblers to easily use their credit cards to
make deposits on the sites – a practice that seemingly encourages debt.
Responsible gambling is a key component to the online casino gambling industry
and the sites pride themselves of advanced software and technology that
identifies problem and underage gamblers and has processes in place to ensure
that the sites are not exploited. But the issue still remains – does the
allowance of credit card transactions facilitate problem gambling and debt. |
