It Could Be Possible
There is a lot of speculation going on right now around the globe that the
Chinese government and structure is in for some very real changes in the next
decade as the online community and spreading of information changes the axis of
power in the country. Right now there are a lot of industries and global
citizens looking toward this slow consciousness rising in China with hope. From
the money and industry side, industries like the online casinos see Asia as a
huge potential market with a lot of possible revenue if the government were to
embrace and legalize the pastime. But even beyond the internet casino gambling
sites, there is even hope that as the Chinese government is made accountable for
its actions that such unstable political situations such as China’s occupation
of Tibet could begin to find a tentative resolution.
Basically, the government is backpedaling right now and really looking for ways
to stop the spread of one of the most pervasive mediums in the world, the
internet. In addition to online casinos finding their way into the nation, even
more powerful than illegal internet gambling is information. The internet is
bringing information not only into the country, but also out of China. The
Chinese citizens are taking to the Net and contributing to the public
discussion. They are finding out new ideas and are actually increasingly able to
monitor and watch the Chinese government’s actions without the lens of
propaganda censoring the information.
There is really only one way that this growing online community of voices can go
– and that doesn’t make it look too good for the Chinse government. If knowledge
is power than the Chinese government is right now prepping for the power
struggle that is going to ensue as the citizens of the country begin to have
sway and influence over just what policies and legislation is enacted. |
