Poker at Online Casinos a Possibility
Support for the online casino poker gambling industry in the United States is
growing visibility as the movement gains some very real momentum and support
from on high. The fact is, until this year there has been a lot of support from
the people of the US for a legalized and regulated US internet poker gambling
industry, but the politicians were not keen on making a clear choice. But that
has all changed and Barney Frank is now not the only member of Congress looking
to push through new legislation that would neutralize the UIGEA and allow
offshore online casinos, or at least in the new bills case offshore internet
poker companies, to offer internet poker to the masses of US gamblers demanding
poker access.
Robert Menendez has formally announced his plans to push through new online
casino poker gambling legislation with a bill that would not only make internet
poker in the US mainstream, but would also provide a framework for generating
more federal funds that could support some of the many new programs and reforms
that Obama is looking to create. The UIGEA attempts to block online casinos and
poker sites from accessing US gamblers but it is not working and the US gamblers
are still seeking out internet poker gaming sites. But without regulations in
place the US is losing out on all of this potential revenue.
A lot of politicians have come to understand that online casinos and internet
poker sites themselves are not the enemy. On the contrary, it’s the dangers of
an unregulated market that is most dangerous for US gamblers and gamers. The US
has a unique opportunity right now to harness the power of the US internet
gambling industry and generate new revenue at a time when the federal budget
could really use the infusion of new cash. |
