Online Casino Hypocrites
The United States is walking a very fine line right now with the rest of the
world in terms of the online casino gambling industry. And now it seems as
though China is following the same line of vaguely hypocritical policies. Both
the US and China have discussed the importance of international free trade and
that countries need to honor their international trade commitments. The
discussions were specifically between the US and China and are so very
interesting because these are the two countries that are breaking international
commitments right now with their protectionist policies toward online casinos.
The US in particular is not the country to be pushing this idea of free trade
considering the outstanding World Trade Organization ruling against the US’s
internet gambling policy.
China is not far behind the Us in terms of restrictive and oppressive online
casino gambling policies and it just floors me that these two nations came to
the conclusion in their negotiations and discussions that free and unobstructed
trade are so important. China! This is the same country that got an
international tongue lashing last month for the almost implementation of the
Green Dam filtering software that would have not only further blocked online
casinos from the market, but would have also silenced the internet voices of
many Chinese citizens.
The US entered into these free trade talks with China at the same time that the
US is in heated negotiations with the European Union because of the US’s lack of
adherence to international free trade agreements. The online casino gambling
issue is important and both of these countries seem to assume that although they
have made controversial trade exceptions for online casinos, their policies are
still strong. |
