Have Some Integrity
While the European and UK online casino gambling industries have previously been
praised at GambleCraft for their efforts to offer responsible gambling practices
and the sites work to prevent the exploitation of problem gamblers there are a
handful of sites that really actually ought to take a page out of the book of
these other sites and value the gamblers. Although the theory of “all business
is good business” is valid within many industries and businesses, this is not
the case with the online casinos. Internet gambling sites are best served by the
gamblers that are practicing responsible gambling and enjoying the game for fun
rather than through an addiction. Four Australian companies though have caught a
lot of negative attention this week for advertising/linking their services on
alleged problem gambling help sites.
Compulsive gamblers often turn to the internet at the early stages of a land or
online casino gambling addiction to seek help and advice from the information
sites and through e-counseling services. During their internet searches the
gamblers are vulnerable; many have just admitted to their compulsive gambling
problem and are in a delicate position emotionally where they are actively
struggling to resist the temptation of the online casinos. For that reason it is
absolutely appalling that any internet gambling company would advertise or even
link from these help sites.
In an industry that has now spent more than a decade struggling to prove it’s
worth and that the online casinos have integrity the fact that four Australian
sites have linked on these faux help-sites is just unacceptable and not actually
a fair representation of the effort exerted by the vast majority of the other
gaming sites. |
