It's Just Frustrating
A lot of people all over the world put a lot of faith in the new Obama
administration and there is a bit of frustration that the online casino gambling
situation has gone on this long into the new administration without being
addressed at all. As GambleCraft has stated before, there is a LOT of work to be
done in the US and the president has his hands full. But campaign promises are
important and the online casinos are wondering just what Obama meant when he
talked about lowering internet censorship if not the internet gambling industry.
Obama’s administration has made absolutely no strong steps forward in altering
the current US legislation that not only blocks the offshore gambling sites, but
also causes concerns and negotiations from other outraged countries.
The European Union has really cornered the US lately in its hypocrisy and yet
the US Trade Representatives continue to ignore the situation and continue to
brush off discussions and expressed concerns. It’s just so frustrating for the
online casinos to have hoped and expected Obama’s promised “change” and have
absolutely no acknowledgment from the administration what so ever. Between the
tenuous relationships and negotiations with the European Union, Antigua, and the
World Trade Organization there was really a hope that Obama and his
administration would have taken a proactive and swift response.
That is just not the case though. The administration has instead chosen to hide
behind the problems in the US economy and healthcare and allow the online casino
gambling issue to continue progressing un-addressed. There is one small niggling
hope that the next session of Congress will drastically alter the US internet
gambling policy – but hope is an awfully strong word to use at this point
because there is near to zero expectation that anything new will come to pass in
the near future. |
