Ladbrokes Would Consider

The announcement that the Danish market may very well be opening up to legal business for the online casinos is quite good news for the European gambling industry. Ladbrokes is one of the most vocal of the internet gambling companies in regards to the closed and monopolized Danish market; the gambling company has actually already entered the market despite the harsh Danish restrictions. Ladbrokes is one of the “big guys” in the industry and the company announced that it was fed up with the European online casino gambling monopolies and was ready to take on the governments on its own accord. But, with the announcement that Denmark could be on the verge of drafting and releasing new, more inclusive gambling regulations, Ladbokes has noted that it would submit to gambling regulations if the Danish government does legally open the country’s doors to foreign competition.

The problem facing Ladbrokes though is submitting to regulations that are still protectionist and unfair. The initial regulations coming out of the Danish government are certainly giving online casinos with interest in this market a moment of pause. But Ladbrokes seems ok with the general direction that the Danish regulations have taken and has noted that the company is fully considering submission to the new regulations should they actually launch – if there is not a lot of companies willing to pay the high taxes than there will only be less competition within the market.

There is likely quite a bit of time before Denmark will be anywhere near prepared to actually launch the new online casino gambling regulations, but it is heartening to see that the European Commission’s pressures seem to have some sort of positive effect.
