Wondering the Truth
GambleCraft has already reported on the news that Washington State has decided
to not only uphold the questionable bans on online casino and poker gambling in
the state, but is taking the whole situation one step into the ridiculous with
the Cease and Desist request sent to PRWeb. Although there has been confirmation
that PRWeb is, in fact, stopping all press release associations with the online
casinos and international internet poker gambling sites, there is still a lot of
incredulity and disbelief by many. Washington state has some of the most
draconian laws in the United States – and although many lobbyists and those with
an interest in the internet poker industry are taking the issues to the state
courts, the Washington State government continues to worsen the situation with
new actions.
The state of Washington is keeping its silence on the issue – maybe in hopes
that the online casino gambling industry and lobbyists just wont notice the new
situation. Since that is unlikely, PRWeb has confirmed that the company is
choosing to follow in the footsteps of other companies in similar positions and
stop writing and releasing press releases for online casinos and other sites
related to the internet gambling industry.
PRWeb is a pretty prominent company in the press release industry and corners a
large share of the online market. Additionally, PRWeb, a subsidiary of Vocus,
Inc (based out of Maryland) has noted that this new move will have an affect on
the company’s profits and revenues in the coming months – the company has broken
contracts with internet casino gambling companies and refunding a portion of the
monies for services that will no longer be rendered. |
