Online Casino Group Seeking
PartyGaming is a pretty prominent name in the international online casino
gambling industry – the company has a solid reputation and a fair share of the
European gaming market. In recent weeks, PartyGaming got a pretty big boost in
recognition now that the company has finally settled up with the US on the
company’s pre-UIGEA activities. Although there will be a pretty hefty sum paid
out to the US government, the issue is now over and the book is closed in this
last chapter of the seemingly never-ending debacle concerning the US’ UIGEA
offshore ban on foreign online casinos. Coming out on the other side of this
issue is the news that PartyGaming is a frontrunner for taking over GigaMedia.
Giga announced earlier in the month that the company was up for sale and have
taken professional financial counseling to assist with the process. In just the
past several days the industry has been alight with rumors that PartyGaming is
aggressively pursuing this potential acquisition. Expansion within the online
casino gambling industry has been a solid focus of the online casino gambling
group for some time now but the ongoing situation with the US government
prevented the company from actually pursuing any of the mergers, acquisition and
partnership deals that have occurred over the past two years.
Now though, PartyGaming is seriously considering the acquisition of the
GigaMedia online casino gambling group. Giga operates the popular and lucrative
Everest Poker gaming brand through a subsidiary that would also be a part of the
deal if it goes through. At this point the deal is in the beginning stages and
there is certainly no clear indication of whether PartyGaming will accept the
price set for Giga and acquire the company and all of its products, services,
and brands. |
