Holy Lemur, Batman
There are a lot of innovations and creativity coming out of the online casino
gambling industry – and not just the software development companies. A new
advertisement for Ladbrokes, created by the top advertising agency, M&C Saatchi,
is an attempt to still keep up with the tongue in cheek adverts while still
staying under the radar of the watchdog groups and the Advertising Standards
Authority (ASA). The ASA has already controversially pulled a couple of the last
adverts that came out of M&C Saatchi for Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes is a premiere
internet gambling group offering up a wide range of online casinos, internet
poker, bingo, and betting. The new ads seek to bring a bit of humor to the
commercial spot without overstepping the ASA’s strict but elusive advertising
requirements.
The thing is, the online casinos are still in a learning phase right now because
the advertising regulations are still so new. The previous Ladbrokes ads got
pulled because the ASA and the watchdog groups contended that the highly over
exaggerated situations presented in the advert promoted questionably risky
behavior at the online casinos. Many other internet gambling sites were
surprised and bit shocked by the ASA’s decision to ban and block the previous
Ladbrokes ads.
This current advertisement created uses a giant lemur to take the situation out
of the realm of possibility and yet still convey the basic message contained in
the two previous advertisements; that you don’t have to take huge risks to have
a fun time a the land and online casinos and betting sites. There is really no
telling though how the ASA will receive this latest advertising. |
