Goodbye to Online Casino PokerRoom
The online casino poker gambling industry unites this week in saying goodbye to
one of the top branded poker sites on the Web for the past decade, PokerRoom.
PokerRoom was one of the first internet poker sites and has lead the way with
frequent innovations and the introduction of many aspects of gambling at poker
online casinos that did not exist before PokerRoom made them a standard feature
(avatars is one such incident). The PokerRoom brand has grained a lot of
strength over the past decade and operates a very extensive poker gaming network
all over the European market with regional language and support for some of the
company’s more key markets. In recent news though, the PokerRoom brand will no
longer standalone – Bwin Interactive has announced an amiable takeover of the
PokerRoom brand effectively immediately.
Once the deal was finalized PokerRoom gamblers were invited to transfer their
accounts over to the Bwing online casino poker gambling network or to rather
cash out their account balances. The existing players certainly have nothing to
really complain about – the Bwin brand has an extremely high reputation in the
industry and operates the largest international internet gambling group in the
world. Bwin operates everything from the poker rooms to bingo sites,
sportsbetting and, of course, online casinos. The addition of the PokerRoom
brand is certainly a strong move for the company and will only strengthen Bwin’s
existing stellar market share.
Bwin Interactive plans to use the PokerRoom brand to build up its market share
in countries where Poker Room has traditionally operated. These areas include:
Western and Eastern Europe, Mexico, the UK, Canada, some of South American, and
additional emerging markets. Bwin already makes a large portion of the company’s
revenue through online casino poker gambling, with the PokerRoom brand
assimilated into the Bwin brand revenues will likely only continue to soar in
the coming years. |
