Help for land and online casino gambling addicts is on the way in Singapore – families now have more rights than ever when it comes to protecting their relations from the tight grip of gambling addiction. The new effort being launched involves both of Singapore’s land casinos as well as two of the country’s major associations: the National Problem Gambling Association and the Family Service Centers. With the diligent work of these two organizations a program has been put in place that allows family members to ban addictive gamblers from the land gambling venues if they are showing signs of a gambling addiction.

This is great news for the land casino gambling industry – a definite step forward in the fight to contain problem gambling. Online gambling is illegal in the country and so this new program does not have provisions for gamblers that are addicted to forms of internet gambling. Specifics of the new program, though, indicate that the family members of the compulsive gambler is now able to go tot the Center and apply for a Family Exclusion Order (FEO) which will then ban the gambler from entering any of the land betting venues in the state. This new FEO is designed to help families combat some of the very real problems that crop up as a result of land and online casino gambling addictions – namely financial and home difficulties.

The Center provides all of the specific information needed to protect family members and notes that the application must be made in person at the center. The FEO is a strong step forward to the land casino industry all over the world as it may just be a very effective way to keep problem gambling levels under control – both of the casino-resorts in Singapore are in full support of the new program.
