Where's the Truth?
Full Tilt Poker has a headache on their hands this week with the announcement
that a former Full Tilt endorser is now suing the company and many of the other
personalities that are a part of the Full Tilt online casino poker gambling
site. Full Tilt Poker, a part of Tiltware LLC, has long had a positive
relationship with Cycalona Gowen (handle: “Clonie”). But after years of an
endorsement deal between Gowen and the Full Tilt online casino poker deal, Gowen
claims that the relationship was abruptly ended by Full Tilt. Gowen was told she
would no longer be used to endorse the Full Tilt Poker gambling site and shortly
thereafter she announced a major lawsuit against the company.
The lawsuit claims $40 million in damages as a result of dozens of alleged
claims against Full Tilt. Gowen is a top professional poker gambler and has not
been involved with any scandals or the such in the past year, that, coupled with
her cryptic dismissal from the Full Tilt team has apparently left the online
casino poker gambling site wide open for a lawsuit. Some of the claims in the
filing include: breach of the Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing, unjust
enrichment and fraud, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, and several other
related claims.
On the flip side of the situation, Full Tilt is not taking any of the blame and
has been quite brief on any explaining the situation. The online casino poker
gambling site claims no wrong-doing and noted that all of Gowen’s “frivolous
complaints” have “no merit.” The case will likely go to the courts in the coming
months. |
