Moving On Up
GameTech International may not be interested in an east-side apartment in the
sky, but the company is movin’ on up in the land and online casino gambling
sectors. The latest positive development for GameTech sees the company securing
a license from the Nevada Gaming Commission to manufacture and distribute gaming
devices within the state. Mobile gaming devices at the land casinos has actually
been a bit of a hot topic lately as companies such as Cantor Gaming enter the
market and offer land gamblers a whole new way to experience gambling at some of
the world’s largest gambling venues and resorts.
GameTech in particular specializes in server-based mobile gaming systems. This
is different from the online casino gambling industry because it does not
actually involve the land gamblers logging onto an internet-based site. Instead
the technology is offered through the land casinos and the mobile gambling
devices are specifically linked to the various land venues. There actually
hasn’t been a huge call for this type of mobile gaming in the market but rather
this is a new technology in development that has only just begun to roll-out at
the land casinos and resorts.
GameTech develops a range of pertinent technology, much of which is also covered
by the new Nevada gaming license. The company offers technology within the
electronic bingo gaming industry (specifically the equipment), video lottery
terminals and other sever based gaming offerings. Beyond just the specialty
offerings though, GameTech’s license now gives the company the ability to sell
and lease slot machines – this is currently a sector of the industry that
GameTech is not specifically engaged in right now. |
