Partnership for French Market
Bwin’s third quarter report is in, and while there is nothing too spectacular to
mention as far as the statistics and figures, a new partnership deal is a very
vital part of this quarter’s report. The details of the partnership are actually
quite interesting, Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG and Editions Philippe
Amaury are partnering up to create a new brand and a new product for the planned
emergence of the French online casino gambling industry. The French government
has released information that indicates that foreign online casinos will have
access to the French market no later than the beginning of 2009.
The planned opening of the French online caisno gambling market is a key news
item in the European gambling market. As the French government issues new
legislation and regulation for the internet gambling industry it is one more
sign that the European Commission’s actions to end the European gambling
monopolies are coming to fruition. As for the partnership though, Bwin and the
Amaury Group announced that they will jointly develop and launch an entirely new
brand and new branded online casinos tailored to the French market.
The news of the partnership agreement is actually very new information and the
quarterly report is the first time that many in the online casino gambling
industry found out about the partnership. The rest of the Bwin report indicated
that the gambling group was able to pull in decent increases in gaming revenues
across the board, but at the same time, the quarter was very calm overall and
there is precious little in the way of exciting new developments – something
that internet casinos reported across the board for the third quarter. |
