Corruption Update
You don’t have to look to the online casino gambling industry in particular to
see signs of corruption – a recent case out of England has eight men implicated
in a horserace scandal. Those involved in the case were actually one of the
horse trainers as well as a jockey and others. Unfortunately, the men involved
in the case used the Betfair online betting and wagering company to facilitate
the corruption and now all implicated are under investigation and the case has
cast a bit of an unfavorable light on the internet gambling industry. This means
that the online casinos and internet gambling sites will have to additionally
step up their efforts to let gamblers know that internet gambling can be very
safe and those who violate the law will be found and prosecuted.
The online casino poker gambling industry has had a very rough past year with
the two major cheating scandals that came out of Absolute Poker and Ultimate
Bet. These two poker gambling sites were involved in the largest cheating
scandals that the internet gambling industry has ever known. The previous poker
cheating scandals made many poker gamblers avoid the online casinos and sites
for fear that the odds were not as honest as land gambling. The current betting
situation at Betfair could have a similar affect – but on a much lower scale.
Because the cheating scandal was caught right away, there is less in the way of
damage to recover from and, in actuality, Betfair showed its true colors – that
the safety mechanisms in place and advanced technology proved that cheating
cannot fly in the online casino gambling and betting industry. |
