U.S. Gamblers Still There
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) has attempted to put a
stop to the majority of online casinos gambling activity in the United States by
making it much harder for internet gamblers to find gambling sites that will
accept U.S. players. Despite the fact that the UIGEA has no regulations in place
that make the act truly enforceable, many internet gambling, betting, and poker
sites withdrew from the U.S. market once the UIGEA passed and will no longer
accept U.S. online casinos players. But even despite the limited number of sites
accepting U.S. players, ZDNet reported that U.S. citizens are still seeking out
the activity.
Online casinos gambling is not actually illegal for the U.S. citizens (expect in
Washington State), so many players are just finding ways around the restrictions
on their financial transactions. ZDNet announced that not only are Americans
interested in internet gambling activities, but their interest is growing. ZDNet
released the site’s search results for the months of February and March, and the
results indicate that interest in online casinos gambling is still far from
over.
