Plans to Enter the Online Casinos Market
The South African internet gambling market is a hot topic in the international
online casinos gambling industry right now. The Members of Parliament and others
within the government have commented that the new legislation will pass, it is
only a matter of time. For right now though, the South African government is
slowly ironing out all of the details that will accompany the legalization of
the nation’s online casinos gambling industry.
Now that it is an almost surefire thing that South Africa will begin to license
and regulate the industry in the coming months or years, prominent online casino
gambling companies have begun to show interest in enter the industry as soon as
it is opened. Victor Chandler has officially released interest in entering the
market, while competitor Bwin has chosen not to comment one way or the other on
the claims that the company is also vying for a South African gambling license
once they become available.
Business Week first carried the news that the company planed to enter the South
African online casinos gambling market, but not long after the reports were
confirmed by the company. Victor Chandler is licensed to operate internet poker,
betting, and casinos gambling through Gibraltar which is also where the company
is headquartered.
Along with the intention to enter the lucrative South African online casinos
gambling market, the company noted planned start up costs as less than GBP
300,000 on the high side. That is certainly a relatively low sum considering the
emerging gambling market in South Africa – the area has a high potential for
long-term growth because of a burgeoning middle class, increased access to
internet and growing interest in various forms of online gambling.
