Online Casino Owner Gone?
According to international media sources, the CEO and founder of one of the
largest online casinos gambling groups, Bodog Entertainment SA, has transferred
ownership and is no longer at the helm of his multi-billion dollar company.
Along with generating millions by operating illegally in the U.S. internet
gambling industry, Bodog has interests in the international gambling industry as
well. Calvin Ayre is the company’s out-spoken “brand ambassador” as he refers to
himself. And although Ayre has spent the last several years writing through his
blog his opinions on the online casinos gambling industry, his company, and
other relevant topics, his latest blog confirmed media reports that Ayre had
transferred ownership of the company to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group out of
the sovereign Kahnawake region.
At this point many in the industry speculate that this latest move by Ayre is
nothing more than a media stint, but others note that by transferring both the
company ownership and the brand ownership over to the Morris Group, Ayre is
sheltering the Bodog online casinos gambling company from U.S. legislation.
Bodog continues to operate within the U.S. internet gambling industry despite
the 2006 ban on offshore internet gambling activities.
Those who are skeptical of this latest announcement by the Bodog online casinos
gambling group point to Ayre’s shenanigans in 2000 as a travel writer for the
company. Ayre wrote accounts of his travels around the world for a gambling
information portal for months before it was revealed that he was in fact
attached to the Bodog gambling group.
