New Place with the ABB
The current Director of Monitoring and Enforcement at the UK Gambling
Commission, Andrew Lyman has announced plans to leave the Commission for a
similar position within the Association of British Bookmakers (ABB). Lyman is
well respected in the online casinos gambling industry for his work in promoting
social responsibility in the industry at every level – from the government’s
regulations to the management team at the actual online casino gambling
companies. Both Lyman and the Commission had only positive remarks on his
leaving the company for the ABB – there is obviously no bad-blood over the
issue.
As for the online casinos Gambling Commission, the is no current replacement
announced to take Lyman’s place, but considering he will remain in his position
until July 2008, there is every anticipation that the Commission will find a
suitable replacement in the coming months. The CEO at the Commission, Jenny
William, remarked on Lyman’s new position at the ABB, “We are very sorry to see
Andrew go but with his expertise and understanding of the Commission’s work he
will continue to contribute to the promotion of socially responsible [land and
online casinos] gambling in his new role at the ABB.”
As for Lyman, his new role at the ABB is as a senior executive at the company.
His experience working with land and online casinos gambling regulations and
responsible gambling programs has well prepared Lyman for his work with the ABB.
Lyman comments, "Having been involved in regulation for some years, I am looking
forward to joining an organisation with a broad commercial focus. This new role
will provide an opportunity to develop my legal, negotiating and other skill
sets in a challenging environment.”
GambleCraft expects more updates on this situation in the coming months as the
Commission seeks out a successor. |
