Online Casinos London Tourney
Neil Channing and a handful of other top land and online casinos poker
professionals competed just last week in the PartyPoker.com World Open IV. The
London event was a popular destination for poker pros looking to hone their
skills before some of the major tourneys take place this coming summer and fall.
But as a surprise to many in the land and online casinos gambling industry,
unbeatable poker ace Neil Channing took home second place at the event while
Marty Smyth out of Ireland won the $250,000 in winnings and the title as World
Open IV winner.
Channing has been on a winning streak for the past several months and many in
the land and online casinos gambling industry assumed that Channing would sweep
this title to add to his growing collection. But that was not to be the case.
Instead, Smyth was able to beat Channing head-to-head at the final table – some
call it a bit of sweet retaliation considering Channing took top honors at the
Irish Open, a tourney that Smyth no doubt was hoping to win.
Smyth is no stranger to the land and online casinos poker gambling industry, but
at the same time, most in the industry truly anticipated that Channing would
continue his winning streak. Smyth remarked on his win, “With the way Neil
(Channing) is running at the moment he was the last person I wanted to take on
heads-up. I hope this sparks a run for me as good as his! I’m so happy to win
the trophy and the money will come in handy for Vegas.” Several other top land
and online poker pros were represented at the World Open IV in London, and most
of these players are looking forward to the upcoming Las Vegas WSOP event to
face off once again for a top title and large portion of the prize pool. |
