A History of Ayre
The outspoken playboy of the online casinos gambling industry, CEO and Bodog
Entertainment SA founder Calvin Ayre has announced he will no longer stand at
the helm of his company. His future plans include maintaining a lower, more
private profile in the coming years with specific plans to work with his
self-named charity, the Calvin Ayre Foundation. Ayre is a self-made billionaire
(one of only 794 billionaires in the world) and has been involved in the online
casinos gambling industry for more several years at this point.
In addition to his most recent efforts in the online casinos gambling industry,
namely Bodog Entertainment, Ayre has a colorful past. Before starting Bodog,
Ayre was involved in stock offenses in British Columbia, which led to a 20 year
ban from using British Columbia securities market. This infraction though was
before Bodog Entertainment became one of the top international online casinos
brands in the world, with operations in Europe, the United States, and other
areas.
Ayre is considered one of the foremost brand developers in the world because of
his work in the online casinos gambling industry. Over the course of less than a
decade, Ayre was able to boost the brand identification of the company into the
international arena.
On the darker side, Ayre was implicated in a marijuana trafficking scandal in
the late 80’s. He was not charged in the incident but both his brother-in-law
and father served time for the trafficking ring. Ayre’s operations have been
much more on the up and up in recent years (or he’s just better at hiding it).
Besides breaking U.S. laws regarding online casinos gambling and having somewhat
of a temper when challenged (check out Ayre’s blog for testament to that last
statement) Ayre has focused the majority of his attention on building the Bodog
brand rather than illegal activities.
