Poker Players on Election Day
The online casinos gamblers in the United States may often feel that their voice
is just not heard and there is little hope of turning around the problems in the
government regarding internet gambling policy. The Poker Players’ Alliance (PPA)
though is focusing the next several months on sending the message that the every
vote counts on election day and players should not only be registered to vote,
but exercise their right to vote at the poles in the 2008 Presidential election.
The PPA’s election campaign is tied to the upcoming WSOP event, and will really
stress that the land and online casinos poker players participating in the event
should have a say in what happens not only in electing a President, but in how
that will influence the internet gambling industry in the country. The PPA’s
campaign slogan is “If you play, have a say." The PPA has launched a Web site so
that gamblers and really anyone touched by the campaign can easily go to the
poker-2008.org site and download all of the needed paperwork to fill in and
print out.
The outreach effort is embraced by a large part of the online casinos poker
gambling industry, and the PPA’s campaign will include a slew of innovative and
grassroots advertising initiatives. Included in the campaign media are videos on
the popular social networking sites, print, online media, and perhaps even
television ads to support the message.
The PPA is a prominent organization in the U.S. politics at this point because
of the polarizing online casinos gambling and poker issue that has raised
concerns all across the U.S. and even Congress is beginning to address the
problems with U.S. internet gambling policy. The PPA is at the forefront of the
movement to fully legalize internet poker in the U.S. |
