Welcoming a Baby
GambleCraft has already reported that Matthew Hilger took home the top prizes in
last week’s $750,000 Guaranteed at Full Tilt, but his plans for the money and
the rest of the year may be surprising. The online casino poker professional is
welcoming a baby girl into his family this month, so there is no doubting that
the $132,000 win at the Full Tilt tourney will go a long way toward paying for
those added expenses. Also, the major tournaments around the globe can get
expensive, and Hilger plans to use some of his Full Tilt winnings to pay for the
upcoming World Series of Poker (WSOP) gambling event next month.
The WSOP in Las Vegas is one of the most prestigious events in the world poker
gambling industry, and Hilger is looking forward to perhaps going far in this
year’s tourney considering he has spent the past several moths practicing at the
online casinos. Hilger notes, “I definitely feel more ready than I ever have as
I have played a lot more online than in past year so I won't be rusty going into
the WSOP.” That is a key point as there will be some very, very stiff
competition at the WSOP event, and a bracelet at the WSOP goes a long way toward
establishing oneself as a true contender in the professional poker gambling
industry.
As for his current wins thus far in the industry, Hilger’s consistency at the
land and online casino poker tourneys is getting better with practice. Hilger
remarks, “In nine or ten tries this year, I have three top 100s, two final
tables and now the big win.” Whether or not he wins at the WSOP, he will still
hold the title of winner of the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed, which is no easy
feat when going up against he likes of Neil Channing and others. |
