Rewarding Registered Members
The Poker Players Alliance anticipates surpassing a million registered members
as early as the end of Spring – and most likely even sooner if the company
announces a signup promotion. The PPA is a pressure group that is currently
fighting the U.S. online casinos gambling ban and specifically pushing the
politicians to carve-out exemptions in the ban pertaining to internet poker. The
PPA has spent nearly a million at this point in lobbying funds and plans to
continue lobbying in Washington, and in Massachusetts where the state’s governor
is attempting to criminalize online casinos gambling. Through all of this
political lobbying the PPA is pushing to reach a million members because of the
strength that number will give the group when lobbying Washington politicians.
As the PPA comes closer to the million mark, Executive Director John Pappas has
commented that the Alliance will soon announce a promotion to encourage new
member registration.
John Pappas has led the PPA essentially since its inception and continues
actively pursue legalize online casinos gambling, or at least internet poker, in
the United States. And now that the million mark in firmly in sight (the group
reported 930,000 at last count), the PPA is pushing hard with promotions and
other incentives to encourage players to register with the Alliance. Pappas
notes, “We had a couple of the leading sites running promotions for us, which
really helped gather new members. They hosted freerolls and then there’s
generally a lag time when we update our official totals. I know we’ll be adding
more members in the coming weeks. I’m confident we’ll get to one million members
by early spring.”
And while those promotions have been successful in driving up the online casinos
poker gambling pressure group’s member numbers, Pappas is considering running a
bigger promotion to boost the total over ideal million registered members.
Although there is no official decision on what incentive the PPA will offer for
registration, Pappas commented, "Right now, I want to have an incentive for the
1 000 000th member. I think that once we make an announcement, we’ll have an
increase in membership. We have discussed everything from giving that lucky
person a seat in the WSOP to having them come to Washington.” The group will be
announcing the exact promotion in the coming weeks. |
