Reaching a Million Players

The Poker Players Alliance has announced that membership in the group is finally nearing the one million mark – a target that the company has been pushing toward for nearly a year now. The PPA is a U.S. pressure group that is specifically looking to push online casinos poker related legislation through that will legalize internet poker in the United States. Right now there are restrictions in place that make internet poker difficult for U.S. players though not impossible. The PPA has slowly built up membership in the online casinos poker group so that the group has more lobbying power in Washington.

The Executive Director at the online casinos poker gambling group, John Pappas is very candid about the PPA’s purpose and plans for the internet poker industry and just how the group plans to spend and raise money. The PPA is a powerful group even with smaller registered members, but the one million mark is an important milestone. There is extensive debate online casinos and poker gambling industries, and Pappas feels that the group will be much more convincing once it surpasses one million registered members.

Pappas commented that the he and the PPA will "do everything we can to make sure members of Congress know there’s an organization that’s a million strong. It’s important to let them know we have one million active members, though, which means our membership needs to get registered to vote and continue to contact Congressmen on the issue of online poker.”

The group is currently sitting at 930,000 registered online casinos poker players and Pappas anticipates surpassing the million mark very soon.
