Positive Profits at Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes is one of the top land and online casino bookmakers in the UK market
with a strong market share and an even stronger reputation. Add to that the fact
that Ladbrokes has experienced none of the serious setbacks that rival William
Hill has contended with in the paste six months and Ladbrokes is well on its way
to a successful 2008. Like its competitors, Ladbrokes offers a variety of land
and online casinos booking services and has expanded into the online sportsbook
industry. Ladbrokes announced its year-end financial report, and it was
certainly enough to make shareholders happy.
Although some in the online casinos gambling industry have experienced setbacks
due to new regulations and changes in the industry, Ladbrokes turned in a strong
performance within all divisions of the company. According to the year-end
report, Ladbrokes was up overall in full-year earnings and pre-tax profit (up
and impressive 60 percent over 2006).
Online poker was the one sector of the company’s online casinos and gambling
operations that showed a slight downturn in profits, which is actually
surprising considering that the internet poker industry is booming around the
world. Basically though, with the casino poker industry in such demand, the
Ladbrokes poker brand faces tough competition from some of the larger more
prominent and established poker brands.
But to counter the decreases in internet poker, the sportsbook rose 14.7 percent
in net revenues, and indication that the venture into online casinos
sportsbooking was a wise move for Ladbrokes. The company notes that the profits
from 2007 will go right back into making sure that 2008 is equally as
successful. Ladbrokes gamblers can expect aggressive marketing campaigns for the
company’s internet casino and sportsbook sites. |
