Philanthropic Online Casino Poker Players
Both land and internet poker can amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars in
winnings for the players – which means that professional poker players are
making much more than the average American household. That’s why it’s so
important that the top land and online casinos poker players use the money
raising power of poker to benefit charities and philanthropic causes. In just
the last few weeks the two top poker players held poker tournaments in honor of
their favorite charities.
Most of the prominent online casinos heartily support the charity events
organized by top poker professionals in the industry. The land and internet
gambling industries are so very lucrative that it is heartening to know that
they are willing to give back portions of that profit to support social causes.
A few of the more generous online casinos include Full Tilt, Doyles Room, and
Ultimate Bet – these three are highly supportive a multitude of diverse
charities.
Jennifer Harman organized a land casino poker charity event in Nevada just weeks
ago to raise money and awareness for the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals) of Nevada. Her event was successful in raising $30,000 in
monies for the charity. The event actually brought in $15,000 in donations and
the Full Tilt online casinos poker gambling site doubled that total.
Todd Brunson on the other hand, held his charity land poker casino fundraiser in
San Francisco earlier this month with all monies supporting the Leo Brien
Foundation – a charity that supports and operates the Camp Okizu for children
with cancer. Brunson is an internationally recognized poker professional who was
able to use his connections to organize a competitive charity event with top
players from all over the world – including former WPT champions and
professionals who play for some of the top online casinos in the industry. His
even brought in $20,000 of money to support this worthwhile cause.
There are more land and online casino charity events in the coming months so for
those looking for a way to show their more philanthropic side these poker
tournaments are a great venue.
