Energizing the Online Casinos Poker Masses
The Pokers Players Alliance is quickly growing into one of the most influential
gambling pressure groups in the United States as the group grows its members to
more than a million in the coming months. The PPA is a fairly new organization
that has spent the last year really focusing on bringing new players into the
group as a way to gain sway with Washington politicians. The PPA is well known
in the online casinos and poker gambling industry for grassroots campaigns and
for contributing nearly a million dollars to lobbying groups in favor of
neutralizing the current online gambling ban in the U.S. Just last week the well
known Executive Director at the PPA, John Pappas announced that Drew Lesofski
has joined the PPA team as the Director of Grassroots and Political Affairs.
The PPA’s member base was at 930,000 registered members at last count and Pappas
has previously commented that the Alliance anticipates surpassing the million
member mark by the end of Spring – sooner if the current promotions drive
players to the cause. Pappas remarks, "As we get closer to reaching the
million-member milestone, it is more important than ever for PPA to find new
ways to energize and mobilize our members." And as the membership numbers grow,
the PPA then has need of an organizer for those individuals – that’s where
Lesofski steps comes into play. "Drew's policy and political campaign experience
will be an asset to PPA as we further refine and augment our grassroots
program," noted Pappas.
The fact that the online casinos issue is still at the forefront of U.S.
politics is also a major reason for having a point person responsible for
informing the many PPA members. More and more politicians and Congressmen are
aware of the ongoing concerns surrounding the U.S. internet gambling ban, so the
is hope that the issue may fully come to a head and resolution sometime this
year. |
