Underage Gambling at Online Casinos
There is a reason that online gambling is reserved for adults (or at least those
over the age of 18 – who knows if all of them could be classified as adults), in
fact there are several reasons and the underage online casinos poker player
JJProdigy illustrates several of those reasons. JJProdigy issued a statement
just weeks ago as a formal apology to the online poker industry for the many
cheats that the player has engaged in over the last several years. The young
player managed to signup and gain access to some of the top online casinos and
poker sites in the industry, then went on to demonstrate truly childish and
embarrassing behavior.
Underage gambling is a serious problem at the online casinos, and one that many
of the popular sites claim that they have firmly under control. But that is not
necessarily the case, especially when one looks at the long track record of the
underage player, JJProdigy.
JJProdigy was involved in multi-accounting, among other problems. And beyond
that, he used inflammatory statements and cheated his way into the online casino
poker rooms, causing the legitimate players undue stress because of his antics.
But perhaps more distressing to those in the online poker industry is that
JJProdigy proves that the industry cannot in fact control the underage gambling
problem completely. JJProdigy managed to re-register at the online casinos poker
sites and continued to play at the internet tables, essentially until he was old
enough to realize he was wrong – and at that point he had a mere month to wait
until he could gamble legally. JJProdigy’s situation certainly signals to the
online poker industry that underage gambling is still a problem, and that the
sites do not have all of the mechanisms in place to sufficiently eliminate the
problem.
