Online Casino Poker Site Responds
Absolute Poker is ready to put last year’s poker cheating scandal in the past
and move onward in the online casinos and poker gambling industry. Poker players
all over the world were shocked when Absolute Poker and the Kahnawake Gaming
Commission announced the extent of the cheating scandal by an Absolute Poker
employee. An AP employee used a software upgrade at the online casinos poker
site as a way to manipulate the software and give the player an unfair advantage
over other online gamers – specifically, the cheater was able to see other
players’ hole cards.
Absolute Poker has spent several months under the investigation of Gaming
Associates, an independent auditing company hired by the KGC. Now that the
investigation is officially closed, and the KGC has ruled on the penalties that
the online casinos poker site must pay for the indiscretion, AP is ready to pay
the penalties, comply with KGC rulings on the cheating scandal and use 2008 as a
positive way to rebound, recover, and focus on continuing to strengthen the
company.
Absolute Poker is now in the position where all online casino poker players can
read the general details about the cheating scandal, so the company is working
to rebuild the previous stellar credibility that it enjoyed before the cheating
scandal. As a way to damage control the situation, an AP statement accepted all
that the KGC has concluded as a part of the investigation. The online casinos
company’s statement: "After reviewing the published report, we recognize the
completeness and accuracy of the KGC conclusions, and we accept without
reservation the KGC’s findings and sanctions. Most importantly, we are pleased,
after these many months, that Absolute Poker can finally put behind it a most
distressing and regrettable experience for the Company, its employees, and its
customers."
Absolute Poker is in a difficult position in that it has to publically
acknowledge what one or several of its employees did to AP online casinos poker
players. The company is looking toward the future, and the statement concluded,
"We acknowledge that the Company did not act with sufficient speed to uncover
the fraud; however, once we were convinced of the veracity of the allegations,
we moved quickly to inform the KGC and to reimburse affected players. While AP
is paying a severe penalty for the fraud perpetrated upon the Company and its
customers, we are gratified that we can now close the book on this sordid
affair.” |
