Are They Just After the Good Promotion?
It’s pretty debatable about how far an online casinos and gambling site will go
to win over new and previous players, but some are questioning the latest tactic
at Virgin Casino. Virgin announced a new promotion at the beginning of January
that ties into the fact that the internet gambling site took down two popular
progressive jackpots. Virgin’s new marketing spin is to run a promotion that
gives back the jackpot finds to those who build the jackpot in the first place.
And while that sounds like a solid way for an online casino to build player
loyalty, others question the fact that anyone who played at Virgin Casino while
the game was running is eligible.
Virgin is currently marketing the promotion as a random drawing for all cash
players – precisely, the site asks, "Were you registered as a cash player at
Virgin Casino before the 6th of November 2007?” If that is the case, the online
casinos payers have five days of random drawings where they can win a portion of
the GBP 55,000 that was present in the progressive jackpots when they were taken
down.
Criticism comes from those who note that it isn’t necessarily the Bananarama and
Winner Takes All gamblers who will get a share of the progressive jackpot payout
– instead it comes off as more of a marketing ploy to attract previous internet
gamblers back to the site, and back into gambling at the online casinos site.
Some argue that there are other ways that the site could have chosen to disburse
the funds, this latest random drawing comes off as marketing campaign more than
anything else. |
