Software Provider Already Paid
The CryptoLogic online casinos gambling software providers were quick to note
that a recent ruling in the Netherlands concerning Holland Casino will have no
financial impact on the company. CryptoLogic was hired by the Holland online
casinos gambling site to revitalize the site and brand – basically give the site
a face-lift. The two companies have already worked together to form the new
Holland Casino online gambling site, and even though Holland was denied an
exclusive license by the Dutch government last week, CryptoLogic will not be
affected by that decision.
CryptoLogic is in a very positive place because the company has spent the last
couple of years diversifying investments and focusing on new markets in addition
to existing deals and licenses. The new CEO of CryptoLogic, Brian Hadfield,
elaborated on why the company will see no negative repercussions from the
ruling. He notes, "While advocates of safe, secure and regulated e-gaming are
disappointed with the Dutch decision, CryptoLogic never places all its bets on
one table; that's why this decision will have no material impact on our
business. We recognised the challenge in Holland early and prepared our business
by accelerating other revenue-generating initiatives.”
CryptoLogic acknowledged that an exclusive online casinos gambling license for
Holland Casino would have been lucrative for CryptoLogic, but at the same time,
the company was prepared for the difficulties facing the Dutch gambling market
in the coming years. Basically, Holland Casino was seeking the right to block
other gambling and online betting companies from having access to the Dutch
gambling market. And while that would have certainly been lucrative for
CryptoLogic because of it exclusive license with the internet gambling company,
the decision would have been in violation of EU policies regarding monopolies
that block the free movement of trade and services between companies. |
