No More Attempts for Governor
Washington State is not known for having the most lenient policies in terms of
online casinos and poker gambling activities, in fact it has some of the most
outmoded laws in the United States. That is where one dedicated individual
(backed by the support of more than a million individuals with similar
intentions) has stepped up to the plate and has formally challenged the State of
Washington regarding online casinos gambling policy that makes internet gambling
a felony offense in the State. Lee Rousso though is not only challenging the
internet gambling related legislation, but until earlier this week was also
seeking a governorship in the state.
Rousso is a practicing lawyer based out Seattle, Washington, who is also a
Regional Director for one of the largest online casinos poker gambling player
advocacy groups in the world. The PPA has gathered support in all 50 states to
seek exemptions for internet poker from the UIGEA, which effectively limits
internet gambling all over the U.S. Rousso has spent many months in pre-court
proceedings trying to get a court date to challenge the Constitutionality of
Washington State legislation regarding online casinos gambling. But he actually
took the case one step further and began to campaign against the current
governor for the State of Washington, Christine Gregoire, in an attempt to
unseat the current governor.
Lee Rousso released a written statement with the details that he had chosen to
step down from the governorship campaign. He notes, “I am dropping out of the
political arena,” but he goes on to express his complete continued support for
the online casinos poker gambling issue. Rousso stated that the Washington’s
current electoral system is the primary reason he has withdrawn from the race.
