Management Course Proved Effective
A weekend intensive aimed at online casinos gambling company managers was highly
successful according to the two organizations that teamed up to offer the
course. The course was formed as a way to train internet gambling managers about
the need for responsible gambling policies and practices in place at the major
gambling companies. Both GamCare and eCOGRA teamed up to offer the weekend
conference for the managers as a way to raise the level of awareness about
integrating responsible gambling into the corporate culture at all of the major
online casinos and internet gambling related companies (like payment processors
and information resource companies).
The two-day event occurred featured intensive training on the current online
casinos responsible gambling standards used at eCOGRA (e-Commerce and Online
Gambling Regulation and Assurance). eCOGRA is a prominent player advocacy
company that has pioneered efforts to provide internet gambling companies with a
clear set of minimum standards and policies that protect all gamblers, but
particularly prevent the exploitation of underage and problem gamblers.
Bill Galston is an extremely respected member of the online casinos gambling
industry with a list of credits for efforts to adequately regulate and protect
the internet gambling industry and gamblers themselves. Galston is the former UK
Gaming Board Chief Inspector and also works with both GamCare and eCOGRA.
Galston commented on why the management weekend was so needed: “For both
humanitarian and ethical reasons and to correct adverse misperceptions by some,
a comprehensive responsible gambling policy is a critical investment for any
online gambling operation.”
Managers from some of the largest online casino gambling companies in the world
attended to the weekend training intensive – 40 managers in all in attendance.
And based on the success of the intensive could become a staple event for new
managers in the industry to attend in future years. |
