Home Base in Ireland
CryptoLogic now calls the Emerald Isle home after a company-wide move from
Canada to Europe. Although the move happened to time itself with the U.S. online
casinos gambling ban, the move to base CryptoLogic out of Ireland was decided as
a strategic company move before the U.S. passed the controversial Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. As CryptoLogic implements the company’s new
global expansion strategy it becomes increasingly clear why the company chose to
move the online casino company’s headquarters to Europe.
Although at the time that CryptoLogic chose to make the transatlantic move the
U.S. was still a viable online casinos gambling market, the European market was
expanding at a much higher rate – and the potential in Asia would entirely
eclipse the U.S. internet gambling market if ever fully realized. The current
CEO at CryptoLogic, Brian Hadfield, comments, "This is a good mid-point for our
business between Toronto and Asia.” He also elaborates, "It's a good place to do
business here, and it's a gaming-friendly environment.” That is becoming
increasingly important considering the fact that now even the Canadian is
considering altering the legality of online casinos gambling in the country.
Ireland is the perfect launching pad for the company’s next part of the
expansion strategy - strategic acquisitions in Europe, Asia, and beyond.
CyrptoLogic has only recently (in the last year or so) begun to look at
aggressively pursuing company-wide expansions, but in that short time
CyrptoLogic has made international news with reports of partnerships and
investments in the emerging Asian online gambling market.
