Exciting but Wait and See
Some online casinos gambling companies are skeptical that the French government
will actually open up to the rest of the European Union in the near future. The
French press have released reports that the new government administration is
much more open to new regulations within the internet gambling industry. The
European Commission and the France’s new administration have been in
negotiations on how to solve dispute concerning the nation’s protectionist
online casinos gambling policies which directly violate established EU policies.
And although it looks like the government is on the verge of passing new
legislation, some internet gambling companies are skeptical that the current
monopoly, Francaise des Jeux, will let the transition occur without any hitches.
There are several major online casinos gambling and betting companies that have
been vying for the French gambling market for a long time and now this is the
first real hope from that country. One of the casinos gambling companies
interested in moving into the French online casinos gambling market when new
regulations and laws are passed has noted though that the government will
certainly find resistance from Francaise des Jeux which dominates the market and
rakes in the profits. Partouche gambling group owner Patrick Partouche noted
that there is every likelihood that Francaise des Jeux will hold onto it’s
exclusivity for as long as possible.
As for why France is currently in violation of EU online gambling policies, the
previous President supported the nation’s monopoly and stalled in talks and
negotiations with the Commission. This administration on the other hand has been
a part of extensive talks with the Commission and it has apparently caused the
desired outcome – the opening of the French online casinos gambling industry.
The rumors are heavily surfacing in the French press so that most in the
industry are waiting for an announcement from either the government or the
Commission before actually celebrating the news. |
