Las Vegas Claims No Recession
The United States’ land and online casinos gambling industry could remain
untouched if the U.S. continues on the same economic path toward a recession
according to Las Vegas. Although some gambling related companies are reporting
losses related to the economy – namely the Sun Cruz Casinos company based out of
Florida – Las Vegas is as popular a destination as ever according to the hotels
and casinos in the city.
But there are some who are skeptical that the land and online casinos gambling
industry will face decreases in the number of gamblers this time around. In
previous U.S. economic recessions the land gambling industry reported that
gamblers continued to try their luck at the slots and table games. Some land and
online casinos gambling analysts contend that with the widespread growth of
gambling all over the country instead of just Las Vegas, it might not prove true
this time around.
Eugene Christiansen is a land online casinos gambling analyst who indicated that
land casinos in the 48 states that allow some form of gambling indicated that
already the number of visitors has decreased. Add to that the fact that U.S.
players have extremely limited options for online casinos gambling, and there is
every reason to believe that hard times in the U.S. will mean cutting back on
visits to the casinos.
Las Vegas though continues to build and expand, even despite the fact that the
U.S. housing market is hitting rock bottom, food and fuel prices are
astronomically high and could set U.S. record prices in the coming months, and
foreclosure rates have skyrocketed. Vegas may be in for a rude awakening and old
myths that players will gamble at the same rates during a recession may just not
hold true, but at this point it’s just a wait and see. |
