Largest Online Casino Cheating Case: 2
MSNBC’s Michael Brunker was the first of the mainstream US news stations to
release a full accounting and analysis of the online casino poker gambling
cheating scandal that has rocked the internet gambling industry. The internet
gambling industry is still fairly new – just a decade old, but gamblers head to
the online casinos trusting in the name and the respectability of not only the
gambling company, but of the jurisdiction in which the company is licensed and
the longevity in business. All of that though has proven to not entirely
indicate which sites are safe. Sister sites, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker are
both embroiled in ongoing investigations into the cheating scandals that were
uncovered over the past 13 months.
Tokwiro Enterprises, the parent company of the two sites, conducted an
investigation of the cheating scandals, as did the licensing authority the
Kahnawake Gaming Commission. And although both organizations have concluded the
investigation and released cursory reports to the online casino gambling
industry on what occurred and follow up actions taken, the internet gambling
industry remains left in the dark in terms of who was behind the huge cheating
scandals and the exact amount of funds stolen from players in both scandals.
Brunkers report is the first time that the online casino gambling industry and
international media were given any clear indication of the scope of the
scandals. Brunker noted in his MSNBC report that an $85 million lawsuit is in
the works against Ultimate Bet. That is really the extent of the information
released on either the figures involved in the cheating scandal or additional
action that may result from the scandals. GambleCraft will continue to update
the online gambling industry as more information is released. |
