Online Casinos Forbid
Just utter the word “multi-accounting” in the online casino poker gambling
industry and it is likely to be met with negative mutters and even a few curse
words. Over the past couple of years only a handful of major poker players have
been found guilty of multi-accounting on some of the major poker gambling sites,
but the admission of guilt can scare a player for years to come.
Multi-accounting is a form of cheating at the poker online casinos because poker
gamblers with an established identity are able to maintain their well-known
identity while gambling as well on the same site under a different name – a
practice that is expressly taboo at all of the poker gambling sites all over the
world.
Brian “sbrugby” Towsend is a well-known young online casino poker gambling who
has gained a reputation at the sites for his high-stakes bets and aggressive
poker gambling tactics. Townsend gambles at two of the largest poker gambling
sites on the ‘net, PokerStars and Full Tilt. Both of these sites boast a large
base of regular poker professionals that frequent the sites and raise the
prestige of the poker tourneys with their presence. Both sites confirmed that
Townsend had multiplayer accounts at the online casinos despite specific rules
in the terms and conditions of playing that forbid the practice of
multi-accounting.
Townsend runs a blog in which he affirmed for players that he did run multiple
accounts at both of the online casino poker sites, but he asserts that his
multiple accounts were never used for cheating purposes or to collude for his
benefit during a tourney. Despite his assertions though this episode is likely
to not only hurt his reputation but that of Cardrunners, a site in which
Townsend provides practical and tactical advice to online poker players. He has
donated $25,000 as a good-faith effort to make amends for his actions. |
