Poker Finds New Players
The much talked about Asian online casino gambling industry is slowly developing
thanks to an increasingly global market linked by the pervasiveness of the
internet. But beyond just the traditional internet gambling market and games,
the Asian market is slowly blossoming into a new center-point for poker
gambling. The Chinese market has begun to embrace the game through the land
poker industry while the online caisno poker gambling industry is also becoming
more readily available in parts of Asia. Exposure to poker is the key part of
the plan to expand the game into this region and exposure has been primarily
thanks to the organic process of ex patriots and students returning to their
home countries from abroad with a love for the game.
As more parts of Asia begin to support both land and online casino poker
gambling some of the top brands in the world are developing niche tournaments
and games that cater just to the Asian and Chinese gambling markets. The Asian
Poker Tour was perhaps the first indication for many of just how popular poker
has become in the region. The APT is currently running throughout the
Asian-Pacific region and turnout at the tournaments has been a bit above
expectations. And not only have the Asian poker gamblers come out for the APT
this year, but the tournaments have drawn professional poker players from the
land and online caisnos.
The President of the APT, Jeffery Haas elaborated on why the game of poker is so
intriguing to the Asian gambling market. The Chinese gambling market in
particular thrives on skill games that use both psychology and mathematics as
primary components to the game. Although the argument is far from settled on
whether poker is primarily a game of skill or chance, the Chinese gamblers are
taking a liking to have an effect over the outcome of the game by using their
smarts. |
