An Eternal Debate for Online Casinos: 1
The internet and poker gambling industries are hardly settled on the debate
about whether poker is a game of skill or chance. The Danes and some U.S. states
have weighed in on the matter, and the U.S. government on the whole has also
given a tacit opinion on land and internet poker. The fact is, most governments
are hesitant to officially rule that poker is a game of skill rather than a form
of gambling because of the wide sweeping effects of such as decision
classification as a game of skill would put land and online poker games under
new and different legislation no longer clumped in with gambling at the land
and online casinos but a category of its own. The Czechs are the latest group to
offer up an opinion its a sport!
The Czech Association of Poker Clubs are rallying that the Czech government
should reclassify land and online poker as a game of sport. The theory behind
classifying poker as a sport apparently comes from some online casinos and the
Association theorizing that the game would be safer from criminal activity if
classified as a sport. The current campaign is directed at new legislation that
is in the drafting process.
As the Czech government begins to truly lay out specific regulations for the
land gambling companies there are many in the land and online casino poker
gambling industries hoping to exclude poker gambling from the new regulations
and laws. According to recent media coverage the government officials are
proceeding with caution when it comes to issuing statements regarding the
planned legislation changes. |
