Austrians Like the Internet

As the European gambling market grows and online casino gambling emerges into new markets some of the smaller European countries are showing marked increases in the number of gamblers heading to the internet for their gambling fun. Austria is one of the smaller gambling markets – online betting is popular but overall the country has shown only small yearly increases in revenue growth for the internet casinos and betting companies. This year’s report, however, indicates that Austria’s gross gaming revenues are on the rise as Austrian gamblers spend more at internet gambling and betting sites.

Online casino gaming revenues throughout Europe and the world are expected to really surge in the next several years. The internet gambling and betting industries are still relatively new in many European countries and industry analysts predict that it will be as long as five years before online casinos and betting sites fully saturate the world market.

The growth in the Austrian betting market is significant at an overall increase of 12.4 percent for the country’s gross gaming revenues. Also of note though is the fact that while online casinos are only just catching on extensively in Austria, the Austrian sportsbetting industry is extremely lucrative and turns a 50 percent yearly growth in recent years.

Interestingly enough though is the research that indicates that while the European online casino and sportsbetting industries are predicted to grow at huge rates the Austrian market will likely continue to grow for the next two years and then begin to slow down on yearly gross revenue growth.
