Retaliation from Online Casinos?
Gambling at the online casinos can be a risky business for internet gamblers,
but it can prove even riskier for the internet gambling companies themselves in
some cases. Boss Media is a prominent internet gambling group operating out of
Sweden and offering poker, betting, and online casino gambling services to the
international internet gambling industry. In the past year Boss Media has been
subject to a costly and questionable lawsuit from one of the company’s licensees
that apparently comes down to an act of retaliation according to executives at
Boss Media and many in the international online gambling industry.
Boss Media dismissed the Poker Trillion online casino gambling site from the
Boss Network – this apparently didn’t sit well with execs at Poker Trillion who
then filed a case with the Maltese courts against Boss Media concerning rake
issues. Poker Trillion stood by the legal action for most of this year, claiming
that the courts had already validated the company’s legal standing in regards to
Boss Media.
On the flip side though, the Boss online casino gambling group released a
statement that blasted Poker Trillion and their attempts to damage the company’s
business by scaring gamblers off of the network for fear of losing their bank
balances. The company’s statement responding to the Poker Trillion legal action:
the proceedings are a “reckless attempt to support a legal action that is
without merit and initiated as retribution for their dismissal from the Boss
Media network.” In recent news, Poker Trillion has just dropped all claims
against Boss Meida – the announcement was abrupt and has provided little
additional information concerning why the litigation was dropped and if there
was any money, deals, or negotiations between the two companies to prompt the
dismissal of legal action.
