Online Casinos Perceived as Sketchy
According to the most recent survey in the UK gamblers don’t trust the online
casinos by and large. iD Factor surveyed 1,000 respondents to gauge trust-levels
within a variety of industries – and by and large the UK public is primarily
concerned with the internet gambling industry. Interestingly, the survey is
simply aimed at gauging public perceptions rather than the actual
trust-worthiness and security of the various industries. The results showed
that, like last year, the public worry about gambling operators and by and large
trust neither the operators nor the security of their personal data once they
give it to the online casino gambling companies.
The issue of identity theft and other incidents of companies losing personal
data has become an increasingly concern for UK residents as well as the global
population. With the expansion of the internet into every industry and every
corner of the world fraudsters are increasingly perpetrating identity theft and
related crimes. Unfortunately for the online casino gambling industry, many in
the UK perceive the internet gambling industry as a large factor in the current
data crisis.
Other areas of interest included the government – the study found that although
some UK government departments had very public missteps in regards to the
security of personal data and the such, the online casino gambling industry
remained at the bottom of the confidence scale. As more and more of the global
economy turns to the internet for purchases, paying bills, and enjoying online
leisure activities, consumers are “extremely concerned” about the security of
their personal data when given to the internet casino industry. |
