Advertising in the UK just got a whole lot easier for the online casinos that are now taking advantage of Google UK’s announcement that the company was lifting the ban that had been in place for over a year. Google still has restrictions in place concerning the UK online caisno gambling industry, but in light of the more liberal UK internet gambling policies the company has ceased the previous ban that prevented internet gambling sties from participating in the Google Adword program. Since Google is the largest search engine in the world, the news last year that online gambling sites were banned was a hard hit for many gambling companies.

The announcement that Google was lifting the ban was taken hard by a lot of the opponents to the online casino gambling industry. Basically, some members of the government and the Church of England weighed in on the issue and they all questioned the reasoning behind lifting the ban right now – just weeks after Gamcare announced that problem gambling was on the rise and right at a time where the global economy is taking a nose-dive. The Labor Defense Minister, Peter Kilfoyle, noted that while he is “not being judgmental” about Google’s decision to allow online casinos back into the Adwords program, that he questions the company’s timing on this decision.
