Morality of Online Casino Gambling
The mention of gambling in mixed company is pretty much up there with broaching
politics and religion – it’s a bit taboo because of the huge and varied
reactions of those with an opinion on the industry. And as if land gambling
weren’t enough of a taboo subject the increased prominence of online casino
gambling has raised a few hackles all over the world. One of the major
objections to the internet gambling industry is led by the fact that internet
gamblers are able to use credit card monies to gamble at the sites and opponents
argue that this encourages problem gamblers to nurture gambling addictions and
rack up sometimes millions in gambling debt.
Many land gambling establishments have simply jumped on the bandwagon in regards
to online casino gambling – the booming internet gambling industry is proving
very lucrative and is currently experiencing surge in the number of companies
offering services and the number of gamblers heading to the internet gambling
sites. But there are a choice few companies that have moral issues with online
casinos and internet betting because of the acceptance of credit cards.
Interestingly enough, some clubs in New South Wales, Australia have moral
objections to internet gambling and have turned down a deal that would net
millions a year in additional revenue for the clubs. Opponents to online casino
gambling simply cannot get over the fact that internet-based gambling companies
allow gamblers to pay with credit over cash. And though this sentiment is shared
in select companies and organizations all over the world, internet gambling
remains popular and thriving in the international market. |
