Musings on Longevity: 1
The current state of the online casino gambling industry quite frankly has me
wondering how long it can last. I certainly have no delusions that the
multi-billion dollar industry is going to simply shrivel up and die off, but at
the same time, for every country that is embracing internet and mobile gaming,
there seems to be another country looking for effective ways to block the online
casinos and protect their players from the “evils” of the internet gambling
industry. Then you look at how convoluted some of the counties have made their
internet gambling legislation (the U.S. and Holland to name just two) and it is
a wonder that anyone wants to deal with any of this at all.
The online casino gambling industry is highly competitive – there is no denying
that the global market has an abundance of internet gambling companies looking
to turn over some major profit – but as more gamblers head over to the online
casinos it seems that there is a responsive number of gamblers shunning the new
developments and instead continuing to place their faith in the land betting and
gambling venues.
There is certainly one very positive aspect to the online casinos (well
relatively positive) the internet gambling sites allow gamblers to save money on
food, gas, and alcohol – all of which costs a fair amount on any given visit to
a land gambling venue. And with the global market in a financial crisis
situation it is no wonder that the very established online casinos are seeing a
surge in new registered gamblers – they’re either hoping to get really lucky at
the slots or they regularly gamble, but simply cannot continue to pay for gas
and food at the land venues. |
