Land and Irish Online Casinos Benefit Irish Economy: 2
The information that was just put on the table this week concerning the
regulation and taxation of land and online casino gambling in Ireland indicate
that this could be a very strong for the government. The nation’s gaming and
gambling agency, the Gaming and Leisure Association of Ireland, indicate that
the proposed regulatory changes could mean a large increase in the number of
jobs in the country as well as a huge amount of taxation dollars coming into the
country – these dollars would likely go to flesh out the budget and also support
social programs in the country.
The Association officially released some numbers that would come to pass if the
proposed regulator changes did take affect. On the table right now is as many as
3,000 new jobs would be created just by the regulation and taxation of the
industry. And tax dollars from the land and online casino gambling industry
would come in at an estimated Euro 50 million.
Then there is another consideration put out there by the Association – the above
numbers are accurate if Ireland merely begins to allow foreign land and online
casinos to offer their services to Irish gamblers. But if the regulation were to
include tax breaks and incentives for internet gambling companies to make
Ireland their main hub and operate out of the country, the number of jobs
available more than doubles and would reach as high as 10,000 new jobs. There
seems to be a decent amount of support in Ireland right now for the new
regulation and online casino gambling supporters will likely weigh in on the
issue in hopes of swaying the government toward regulation and taxation. |
